"Yankee in King Arthur's Court or A Twenty-first Century Knight" by girlinatree

It is often noted that FFVII was a much different game than that of its predecessors at the time of its production. (Excluding VI technologically speaking.) So I wondered, what would be an awesome way to show the stark difference in the games?
My answer to this quandary was to have a character (yours or else wise.) travel to a time and place much different than his/her own much like the novel A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court by Mark Twain.
The character/you/oc travels to the place of your choosing (IE FFI to VII, FFVII to II, ect.) and encounters adventure and/or romance.
What you write is up to you I have no restrictions:
If you want to write a story where Reno decides to take over the other FF with his ‘superior knowledge’, cool beans. A story where knight from FFI is overwhelmed by the technology of VII and believes (s)he must destroy a ‘metal dragon’ to win his/her way home, good on ya!
The point of this challenge is just to show the contrast in the societies and be an exercise in writing character.
But really just have fun with it!
